A mother of three, Marquita faced a daunting challenge when diagnosed with breast cancer. Determined to navigate this experience with her children by her side, she penned the heartwarming children's book, "BK's Mommy Has Breast Cancer." This book became a beacon of hope, not just for her own family, but for countless families facing similar situations.
Marquita's story doesn't end there. Inspired by the pay it forward spirit of the breast cancer community, she went on to become a fierce lobbyist and breast cancer advocate.
