LaShae is a Ph.D. student in public health, specializing in cancer prevention research focusing on marginalized and minority populations. As a lifelong athlete and elite powerlifter, LaShae's life took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with multicentric breast cancer in February 2024. Despite this challenge, she continues to defy the odds, competing in powerlifting while navigating treatment.
