About me
Colleen Cekovsky was diagnosed with Stage 2B invasive ductal carcinoma at age 37 after initially being misdiagnosed and told she was too young for breast cancer. She underwent a mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation, hysterectomy due to a genetic mutation, and reconstruction—all while raising two young children. Her husband, then active in the military, earned the nickname “unicorn” for his unwavering support. Colleen stayed active throughout treatment, lost 75 pounds to reduce her risk of recurrence, and faced her journey with strength, humor, and a commitment to "embrace the suck."
