Create a paper lantern for yourself or to dedicate to a loved one gone too soon due to cancer. We will use dried flowers, tissue paper, sparkles and paint to decorate paper lanterns with messages to the legacies that cancer took from us, or an intention for yourself.

Completed lanterns for legacies can be displayed at Breastival as part of a community art installation.

Learn how to use flowers and plants found in your garden, neighborhood, bodega, or kitchen to create natural “watercolor” paints. Christie will lead a demonstration on how to use pH modifiers to alter the colors of the paints— it’s pure alchemy! She will also demo painting exercises that will help you unleash your inner child and creativity. Each participant will leave with 3-5 beautiful abstract paintings to take home.
